Hillside homes and stairs

A lot of Echo Park houses sit above the street, reached by a long flight of steps or a steep driveway. Some are on the public stairways that run between streets in Elysian Heights, with no driveway at all. We plan for the carry: the stairs are part of the price we give you from your photos, and we bring enough people for it. Send a photo of the steps from the bottom and from the top.

The streets up in the hills are narrow and winding, with parking on one side. Tell us where a truck can stop, even if it's a few doors down.

Old houses with a lot inside

Angelino Heights has some of the oldest houses in the city, and the Craftsman bungalows and Spanish homes on the flatter streets aren't much younger. Older houses mean attics, basements, built-in cabinets and garages that have been filling up since before the current owner. Family cleanouts and whole-house clearouts before a sale are common here.

Many of these houses were split into units over the years, so we also do a lot of single-unit move-outs for owners who live in the same house.

Apartments and game days

The apartment buildings along Sunset Boulevard, Glendale Boulevard and Echo Park Avenue are mostly older walk-ups with street parking. We load from the curb or the alley, and we schedule around street cleaning when we can.

On Dodgers home game days the streets near Stadium Way and the stadium entrances get slow and some are closed. If you're near the stadium, we'll suggest a morning time.
