Towers, lofts and family homes

Access and building rules
Most Downtown towers and loft buildings have firm rules. You'll usually need to book a loading dock time and a freight or service elevator through building management. Some buildings want elevator pads or certain hours. Send us the rules and the reserved window, and we'll plan the job inside it.
Street loading Downtown is limited, and traffic is heavy. Event nights at Crypto.com Arena and L.A. Live, and games at the Coliseum and BMO Stadium in Exposition Park, slow everything nearby. We plan around those when we can.
Older walk-ups in Westlake and Pico-Union often mean stairs, narrow halls and no elevator. In large apartment buildings, trash service usually runs through the building, so ask your manager what's allowed at the curb. In South LA and Boyle Heights, homes usually have a driveway or curb space close by, and we load from the alley where there is one.
Free city pickup or a full clearout?
Many family homes in Boyle Heights, South LA and Watts can use LASAN's free bulky item pickup. You request it through MyLA311 or by calling 311, and the items go out to the curb for a scheduled day. That works well for a couch or a mattress.

Questions about Downtown & South LA
My Downtown building needs a freight elevator reservation. Who books it?
You do, because most buildings only take bookings from residents or owners. Send us the reserved time and any building rules, and we'll work inside that window.
Can you take debris from a Downtown loft remodel?
Yes: drywall, wood, tile, flooring and cabinets. In the City of LA, that debris has to go to a city-certified construction and demolition recycling facility. Book the freight elevator for the haul-out, and we'll work inside that window.
Can you help with a move-out near USC in May?
Yes. It's a busy time of year, so send photos early and give us your preferred date. We'll confirm the earliest time that works. Same-day service is often possible too, so ask if you need it gone today.
Can you clear a whole family home, including the backyard?
Yes: furniture, boxes, closets, the garage and yard waste. Paint, motor oil and other hazardous items go to LASAN's free S.A.F.E. centers instead.
