The City of LA rule for construction debris

In the City of Los Angeles, construction and demolition debris has to be hauled to a city-certified construction and demolition recycling facility. LA Sanitation keeps the list of certified facilities. It can't just go to any landfill.

We take debris from City of LA jobs to a city-certified facility, so you don't have to figure out where it's allowed to go. When the job is done, you get before and after photos of the cleared area.

For contractors

Between trades, a debris pile in the driveway slows everyone down and bothers the client. Send photos of the pile and tell us when you need it gone. You get one fixed price in writing. Give us your preferred date and we'll confirm the earliest time that works.

Some contractors want one haul at the end. Others book us at stages, like after demo and again at final cleanup. Tell us where the debris is staged, whether the client will be home, and any floors or paths that are protected. You can pay by invoice, ACH (bank transfer), credit card, cash or Zelle.

For homeowners

Maybe your contractor left a pile behind, or you did the demo yourself over a few weekends. Household trash bins aren't made for heavy remodel debris, and a pile in the side yard tends to stay there.

We'll clear it from wherever it is: the driveway, the backyard, the garage, or inside the house. We pick up the small pieces too, not just the big ones, and send you before and after photos. Check out our garage cleanouts if the remodel also left the garage full.

How pricing works and how to get a faster quote

Debris is heavy. A small pile of tile can weigh more than a couch, so weight matters as much as size. Price also depends on how far the pile is from the truck and whether it has to come down stairs. You get one fixed price in writing before we load. If there's more than the photos showed, we confirm the new price first.

What we can't take: asbestos and other hazards

We can't take asbestos or any material that might contain it. Older LA homes can have asbestos in things like popcorn ceilings, old vinyl floor tiles, pipe wrap and some plaster. If your home is older and you're not sure, have the material tested before demo. If it tests positive, it needs a licensed asbestos abatement contractor.

We also can't take paint, solvents and other chemicals, motor oil, or propane tanks. LA Sanitation runs free S.A.F.E. centers where residents can drop off household hazardous waste.
