Junk removal in Sherman Oaks
Sherman Oaks splits in two at Ventura Boulevard: hillside homes to the south, and flatter streets with houses, apartments and condos to the north. We handle both, from garage cleanouts in the hills to apartment turnovers near the 101.

South of the Boulevard
Homes south of Ventura climb into the Santa Monica Mountains on winding streets with few sidewalks. Many have long driveways, steep entries or garages tucked under the house, some with a sharp ramp down from the street. Bigger homes mean bigger cleanouts: extra bedrooms, home gyms, old patio sets and garages full of years of storage.
Tell us if the driveway is steep, shared or gated, and where it's safe to stop. Many of these streets have no room for two cars to pass, so a photo of the street out front helps us plan.
Brush clearance and yard waste in the hills
Much of the hillside south of Ventura is in the city's Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone, where the LA Fire Department requires owners to keep brush cleared around their homes. The cut vegetation has to be removed legally. Once your gardener has done the cutting, we can haul the branches, dead brush and old yard debris so nothing sits in piles. If a pile has been sitting for a while already, send a photo and we'll price it as it is.
North of the Boulevard
North of Ventura, Sherman Oaks flattens out into blocks of ranch-style houses and plenty of apartment and condo buildings, especially along Riverside Drive, Moorpark Street and the area near the Galleria. Many buildings have gated garages and elevators. Condo garages often have tight turns, low ceilings and little guest parking, so tell us where vendors may park and whether we need a fob to get back in.
Up here the work is more about move-outs, replacing furniture and clearing out storage spaces in the garage. Property managers and condo owners call us most. Many complexes have HOA rules about vendor hours or elevator use, so send those along and we'll schedule inside them.
Jobs we see most in Sherman Oaks
Here's what keeps coming up on both sides of the Boulevard:
- Garage cleanouts before a sale, a remodel or a garage conversion
- Downsizing a longtime family home after the family has picked what to keep
- Old fridges, washers and dryers swapped out during a kitchen or laundry upgrade
- Apartment and condo move-outs between tenants
- Kitchen and bath remodel debris from hillside homes with no room for a dumpster
Nearby areas
Sherman Oaks is surrounded by other neighborhoods we serve, including Studio City, Encino, Van Nuys and Valley Village. Over the hill to the south is Bel Air, which is also in our area. Encino, just west, has a similar split between hills and flats, so if you own a second property there, we can price both at once. FAQ
Questions about Sherman Oaks
My house is up a steep driveway. Can you still get to it?
Yes. Send a photo of the driveway and the street, and tell us where we can stop. The fixed price you get covers the extra walking and carrying.
Can you take old pool furniture and equipment?
Yes for lounge chairs, umbrellas and old pumps or filters. Pool chemicals count as hazardous waste, so those need to go to a LASAN S.A.F.E. center.
My gardener cleared brush on our hillside. Can you take the cuttings?
Yes. Branches, dead brush and old yard debris all go. Send a photo of the piles and tell us how far they are from the street, and that goes into your fixed price.
