Junk removal in Downtown LA
Downtown hauling is all about the building: loading docks, freight elevators, time slots and rules set by management. Arts District lofts and high-rise condos each work differently, and we plan for both.

High-rises: docks, elevators and building rules
In many residential towers in South Park, Bunker Hill and the Financial District, vendors can't carry junk through the lobby. Instead, you book a time at the loading dock and reserve the service elevator. Some buildings also want vendor information on file before the crew arrives.
Ask your building what it needs, then send us the rules along with your photos. We'll tell you up front if we can meet them, and schedule inside your elevator window. If the building only allows certain hours or days, put that in your message.
The last few days of the month get crowded in big buildings, since everyone moving out wants the same elevator slots. Book yours early. Also ask whether the dock has a height limit, or whether loading has to happen at the curb.
Arts District lofts
Arts District lofts are mostly converted warehouses and factory buildings. The units are big and open, so they hold a lot: oversized sofas, workbenches, shelving, art projects and leftover build-out from past tenants. Many have freight elevators, some run by building staff, and the streets outside see delivery trucks all day.
Paint, solvents and other studio chemicals can't go with us. Those belong at a LASAN S.A.F.E. center. Along Spring and Main in the Historic Core, many old bank and office buildings were converted into lofts. Those buildings, and older ones in Little Tokyo, have their own quirks too, like tiny elevators or a back door that's the only way out with big items.
Common Downtown jobs
Building managers, leasing teams, agents and residents all call us here. Plenty of people also move in and out of Downtown for work. If you're leaving town and don't want to ship your furniture, send photos of what's staying behind and we'll price just those pieces.
- Condo and apartment move-outs before the lease ends. Our move-out cleanouts page explains how these work.
- Furniture removal of sectionals, beds and desks that won't fit in the next place
- Loft cleanouts after a long tenancy or when a studio space closes
- Clearing storage cages and abandoned items from building garages
Street loading and nearby areas
Not every Downtown building has a dock. Street parking here is mostly metered, and many curbs are loading zones with posted hours. If your building loads from the street, tell us the closest side street or loading zone, and we'll plan the stop around those hours.
We also cover Chinatown, Westlake, Pico-Union, Boyle Heights and University Park, all in our Downtown and South LA region. Little Tokyo, Chinatown and Arts District buildings often share the same dock and freight elevator rules, so the planning tips above apply there too.
FAQ
Questions about Downtown LA
My building requires an elevator reservation. How does that work with you?
Book the slot with your building, then send us the date and time window. We'll confirm we can work inside it, and you'll have your fixed price before the day.
Can you take a sectional out of a high-rise?
Yes, as long as it fits in the service elevator. If it won't, we'll work out options with you ahead of time, like taking it apart.
Do you haul from Arts District lofts with freight elevators?
Yes. Let us know whether the elevator is self-service or run by staff, and what hours it's open, so we can plan the timing around it.
